The “My first steel pan” set brings together three essentials to start cooking with carbon steel in the best possible conditions.
It includes:
- A MINERAL B Ø24 cm frying pan
- A 100 ml seasoning and maintenance wax
- A perforated B BOIS spatula.
A trio designed to help you learn how to sear, brown and caramelise like a chef, while easily caring for your cookware.
The MINERAL B pan, made in France from carbon steel, heats up quickly and delivers an excellent Maillard reaction. Over time, it naturally develops a protective patina that enhances performance and improves food release. This robust material, free from chemical coating, appeals to both professionals and home cooks seeking authentic cooking.

The seasoning and maintenance wax (100 ml) is made from natural ingredients — grape seed oil, rapeseed oil and beeswax. It protects the steel from oxidation, helps with the initial seasoning and supports the development of a uniform patina. A thin layer after each use is enough to preserve the pan over time.
The perforated B BOIS spatula, made of patinated stainless steel with a waxed beechwood handle, completes the set perfectly. Sturdy and comfortable to hold, it allows you to turn food without damaging the pan’s surface and fits into a zero‑plastic approach.
Compatible with all heat sources, including induction, the MINERAL B pan also withstands oven use (10 minutes at 200°C). Once well seasoned, it is ideal for searing meat, grilling vegetables or cooking eggs.

The MINERAL B pan and the wax are made in France, in keeping with de Buyer’s long-standing craftsmanship. The carbon steel used is warp-resistant and designed to last a lifetime with proper care.
The B BOIS spatula, combining stainless steel and beechwood, reflects the same commitment to quality: natural materials, careful manufacturing and ergonomics designed for daily use.
This pack is the perfect introduction to the world of carbon steel: reliable, evolving and durable cookware that improves with every use and supports all culinary ambitions.

Pour about 1mm of oil into your iron pan and heat it. Once the oil slightly steams, empty it into a recipient and wipe the pan with a paper towel.
The seasoning of your pan will be optimal and efficient after having cooked red meat 10 times. The more your pan is used, the best the cooking results are. The more it blackens, the less it sticks. Once your pan is well seasoned, you will be able to cook more delicate food such as eggs, fishes…
