The ALCHIMY Ø24 cm stewpot is ideal for preparing generous portions: beef bourguignon, silky soups, slow‑cooked dishes… Compatible with all heat sources, it performs equally well on ceramic glass, gas, induction or electric cooktops.
Its versatility goes even further: this multilayer stainless steel stewpot is also suitable for oven cooking. It features internal graduations every 0.5 L, making it easy to measure liquids directly during preparation.

Unlike many stainless steel utensils, the ALCHIMY collection is crafted in full 3‑ply multilayer stainless steel. The outer ferritic stainless steel layer ensures compatibility with all heat sources. The inner AISI 304 stainless steel layer — similar in properties to 18/10 stainless steel — guarantees perfect food neutrality. Between them, an aluminium core enhances heat diffusion throughout the entire body of the stewpot.
The combination of these three layers delivers a precise, high‑performance utensil: fast and even heat‑up, excellent reactivity, and quicker cooling compared to a stewpot with an added base.

Like the entire ALCHIMY collection, this 5.5 L stewpot is made in France in our Vosges‑based manufacture. A heritage of craftsmanship passed down since 1830, each piece is shaped, assembled and inspected in our workshops.
Its brushed finish and 3‑ply multilayer stainless steel embody the standards of the ALCHIMY collection. Precision, durability and elegance define this professional‑grade stewpot by de Buyer.

AISI 304 stainless steel and 18/10 stainless steel refer to the same type of stainless steel, the one suitable for food contact. AISI (American Iron and Steel Institute) is an international standard used to classify stainless steels.
In everyday use, stainless steel is more commonly referred to as 18/10; the “10” represents the percentage of nickel in the alloy. The AISI 304 specification requires between 8% and 10% nickel. For everyday kitchen use, there is no difference in durability or ageing between 8% and 10% nickel.
AISI 304 stainless steel and 18/10 stainless steel therefore indicate the same quality of stainless steel. However, we prefer to use the term AISI 304 stainless steel, as it is the “official” designation for this alloy.
